Paternity Informational (Non-Legal)
DNA testing can be used to determine if there is a biological relationship between two individuals. This is typically done by obtaining genetic material (DNA samples) from the two individuals via cheek swabs, then comparing these samples.
A paternity test is used to determine if someone is the biological father of a child. It works by comparing the DNA of the alleged father to the DNA of the child. If possible, it is preferred to have the child’s mother participate in the Paternity Test as well, since she contributed 50% of her DNA to the child.
This is an informational Paternity Test. Informational Paternity Test results cannot be used for any type of legal purpose, such as adding or removing a father’s name from the child’s birth certificate, child support, visitation, or other types of legal/verified situations. If you are not planning to use these test results for any type of legal reason, then this test can provide you answers and peace of mind. If you are looking for a Paternity Test that can be used for legal/other purposes, check out the Paternity Legal Test.
All tested parties may schedule an appointment or walk into one of our locations for testing. Our friendly Medical Assistants will collect the samples needed for the test. As an alternative, some store locations offer Home Collection Kits. If the Home Collection Kits are available for online purchase at your selected store, you will see a “Buy At Home Kit” button on this page. After you complete your purchase, a kit will be sent to the address(es) you designate and you can collect the samples yourself, then ship them directly to the lab for testing.
The basic test kit contains collection supplies for 1 child and 1 alleged father. Test results from the Home Collection Kits are not legally admissible.
